TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

Rob Lowe's impression of Robert Wagner was developed several years before its appearance in the film. Lowe dated one of Wagner's daughters.

Basil's remark to the audience about ignoring the mechanics of time travel was unscripted.

After completing initial filming, the rocket (Johnson) scene did so well with test audiences that they went back and filmed more.

When Austin (Mike Myers) and Felicity (Heather Graham) are driving through the English countryside, Austin remarks on how the English countryside looks nothing like southern California. The entire movie was filmed in southern California. This scene was spur of the moment, with the dialogue improvised. This is evidenced by Felicity saying "What?" when Austin asks her the question.

An early trailer for this film was unusual in that it referred to another film scheduled for release in the summer of 1999. It included the voice-over "If you only see one movie this summer, see Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace (1999). But if you see two movies, see Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me (1999)."

"Number Two: Why not use your knowledge of the future to play the stock markets? We could make trillions. Dr. Evil: Why make a trillion when we could make... billions? Scott: A trillion's more than a billion, numbnuts."
