Bee and PuppyCat was originally intended to be a one time (two-part) short but due to its mass popularity, it was made into a full web-series. This was supported through the crowd-funding website: Kickstarter.
This is only the second full internet series that YouTube channel Cartoon Hangover has released, the first being Bravest Warriors.
The entire second season of the show was accidentally posted online on June 15th 2020 by Fred Seibert on his Vimeo page (which was meant to be kept private) before it was supposed to be aired.
The sequel to the show, Bee and PuppyCat: Lazy In Space had it's announcement in 2018, in hope for the show's continuation, coming from the episode leaks in June 2020. The season 2 of Bee and PuppyCat had been planned, prior to the Lazy in Space announcement for seven years. Thus, delaying the series.
In the series, both Bee and PuppyCat are chubbier than they were in the pilot - in Bee's case, to the point that she almost looks like a child.
