The film marked the first time Sanjay Kapoor visited Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The second was for Zameer.
The song "Tu Woh Tu Hain" from Beqabu was sampled from The Theme of Good Bad and The Ugly. The same tune was used in the title sequence of the video film "Janjaal" . "Taaron Mein Saja Ke" from Jal Bin Machli Niritya Bin Bijli also sampled the same song.
Juhi Chawla was offered the lead role.
N.Chandra offered Manisha Koirala the film and wanted her to sign. Manisha refused saying she rather do his other film Wajood. N.Chandra agreed and signed Mamta Kulkarni. Manisha ended up losing Wajood to Madhuri.
To promote the film several ads were placed in magazines that stated "Sanjay Kapoor has placed a 10 lakh bet with Anil Kapoor that Beqabu will be more popular than Tezaab... We think he will win..".
