Wyatt Oleff and Chase Sui Wonders are among the cast members of the series, which is based on the 2015 novel by Garth Risk Hallberg and centred on Samantha Yeung, a young woman who is shot in Central Park one night in 2003. It quickly becomes apparent that Sam, who is now in a coma, is the only connection between the show's several plotlines, which revolve on a little kid named Charlie who lost his father in the 9/11 attacks, the downtown music scene, a string of fires being lit around the city, and a wealthy uptown real estate family. It's difficult for me to recommend that City on Fire be at the top of your watchlist. I would be reluctant to discourage anyone from doing it, though. Instead, watch this series when you're having trouble deciding which programme to watch on Apple TV+. There are still many enjoyable moments in this show if you stick with it through the first episode and get to know the characters and their unique struggles, regardless of how far down the line they are portrayed.
