Creed Review

The film Creed also advocates fighting the good fight just like the previous Rocky films. Its central theme is boxing but we know that that's never the only focus of films like these. The film is not just about fighting, in fact, it is more related to life and all its ups and downs, how individual fights for what he loves and whom he loves. Creed not only honors the legendary Rocky films but also captures the essence of those films. The film is inspiring, emotional, full of drama, exhilarating, exciting and so much more. The fight sequences are beautifully choreographed in a way that you are hooked to the scenes. The casting is excellent and all the actors have done a wonderful job. It is nice to see Michael B Jordan and Sylvester Stallone working together. A powerful duo for sure. The movie is full of entertainment and worthy of being watched.

TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

While training, Adonis wears a shirt with the message "Why do I wanna fight? Because I can't sing and dance..." This was a line from Rocky to Adrian on their ice skating date in the first Rocky (1976).

Just as the film was entering pre-production, Sylvester Stallone's oldest son Sage Stallone died of a heart attack. Stallone has admitted that the loss almost sent him into a full breakdown, but Ryan Coogler was eventually able to convince him to use the film as a dedication to Sage, focusing specifically on the father-son relationships that appear in it. Although initially resistant, Stallone said at the Golden Globes that Creed helped him cope with Sage's death.

Sylvester Stallone requested that Michael B. Jordan wear the famous American flag trunks that Apollo Creed wore in Rocky (1976) and Rocky wore in Rocky III (1982) and Rocky IV (1985) to keep tradition in the "Rocky" universe.

Carl Weathers, who played Apollo Creed, gave his strong endorsement to the movie and Michael B. Jordan's performance. Jordan felt extremely honored.

This is the first film in the "Rocky" series that is not written by Sylvester Stallone.

Popular Dialogues

"Rocky Balboa: One step at a time. One punch at a time. One round at a time."

"Rocky Balboa: [pointing toward Adonis' reflection in the mirror] That's the toughest opponent you're ever going to have to face."
