TRIVIA

Trivia

The song Lucky Kabootar was written by Sukhwinder Singh' s wife Tejpal Kaur. She had written the song for another producer. Sukhwinder ended up taking the song without her permission and giving it to Raj Kanwar. Sukhwinder started ill-treating Tejpal. The ultimate betrayal came in the form of the song 'Lucky Kabootar', which was written by Tejpal for a music company owned by a Canadian settled NRI Gurinder Singh. Sukhwinder apparently stole the song and gave it to Raaj Kanwar for his film Daag without crediting her. An angry Tejpal hit back. "Sukhwinder wants a servant not a wife but I am not that type. My husband is a disgusting man," .

Raj Kanwar had planned a song in the climax that would be 10 minutes long. He scrapped that climax when he decided to make Sanjay Dutt the focal point of the film.

At one point, Bihari (Harish Patel) tries to get fresh with Kajri (Mahima Chaudhry) and tells her he will help her to get work in the movies as Subhash Ghai is a good friend of his. In reality, Subhash Ghai did launch Mahima Chaudhry's career with Pardes (1997) and renamed her from Ritu to Mahima Chaudhry.

When the film was started, Chandrachur Singh was the main lead with Sanjay Dutt in a special appearance. The film distributors were not giving Raj Kanwar the price he was asking for. So Raj Kanwar decided to increase Sanjay Dutts role and make it a two hero film. He then added the " Lucky Kabootar" song in the last minute.

The song "Chehra Tera Chehra" was copied from the instrumental segment of Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On".
