IMDbThe writing-directing team of Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti wants their audience to play a certain game. These ladies have collectively defined the cinema of metaphors and reflection with each project they have worked on both individually and together. The dedication with which Gully Boy was made to explore the Rap culture in Bombay and the rest of the world through music and hidden layers, or the cop in Kagti's Talaash who wanders around with a mystery woman only to realise he was solving a murder case of the said woman (it's been over a decade, it's no longer a supplier). The opening titles of Dahaad feature a haunting montage of a ghostly Rajasthan. The majority of the pictures are brief.A man's hand starts to pull back as a woman's hand is extended. After that, no more men are visible, but the ladies, who were before seen laughing, jogging, and sitting around a barren bush, aren't quite there either. They are hiding their faces, and the picture keeps losing them. A noose at night, dolls dangling from trees, graffiti written in love on walls, and rotting havelis may all be seen in passing. In a nutshell, the programme is about the spirits of vanished women who roam the desiccated sands and shadowy lanes of mediaeval Rajasthan.
