TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

After fourteen, years on 5th October 2011, the film was released for the first time on home video in its home country, Australia, with a DVD release from Umbrella Entertainment. The company later released a Blu-Ray edition in 2017. The film prior to this time had only had la few limited individual screenings in Australia such as one organized by Quentin Tarantino in 2009 in Sydney.

John Jarratt got to take the hat he had worn in 'We Of The Never Never' (1982) and wear it again in this movie.

This film remains unreleased in its country of origin, Australia. This is apparently due to Avco Embassy owning the Australian distribution rights but they went bust just prior to the films release.

This film is considered an "Ozploitation" (Australian exploitation) picture.

The movie was filmed in Australia in Cairns in Queensland (five weeks) and Alice Springs in the Northern Territory (one week).

Popular Dialogues

"Rex Garret: Now you give me one good reason why crocodiles should be protected. Just one! Steve Harris: One good reason? For 200 million years there's been a croc-like-animal... they were here at the time of the dinosaurs. For 200 million years! And we've taken them to the brink of extinction in 20."

"Steve Harris: The Aboriginals don't want it killed. They say it's a dreaming croc. Rex Garret: Not again! Steve Harris: It's sacred Rex Garret: Sacred! It just ate three people. You can't put up a dunny in this territory without some black saying you're peeing on his sacred dreaming ground."
