IMDbDebutant Srikanth Odela's Dasara offers a visually stunning world filled with characters that have potential but ultimately falls short due to a lack of exploration of its themes. The film is set in Veerlapally, where casteism runs rampant, and the men dominate the liquor business while the women are left frustrated. The protagonist, Dharani (Nani), is a man who fears everything and turns to alcohol to cope. He is joined by his best friend Suri (Deekshith Shetty), and the love interest Vennela (Keerthy Suresh), forming a tribe of underdogs who get dragged into a bigger issue. Srikanth spends the first half of the film building the world and characters, but the second half falls short, failing to keep the audience fully engaged. Some scenes are too heavy, while others fail to hold your attention, and the much-hyped song Chamkeela Angeelesi feels out of place. Furthermore, the director doesn't delve deep enough into some of the issues he introduces, leaving the viewer feeling underwhelmed. Dasara is a mixed bag that offers a visually gripping world and potentially intriguing characters but falls short in its exploration of themes, resulting in a film that fails to fully captivate its audience.
