STORY

Story
When a small town doctor buries his twin brother, a practitioner of the black arts, he believes him dead; but subsequent events force him to realize that his brother has, in fact, returned from the dead as a vampire and is seeking revenge on the doctor, who had killed him in self-defense.

Dwight Frye, who plays Zolarr in this film, has the distinction of being one of 2 actors to appear in the original Frankenstein (1931) and the original Dracula (1931), both released in 1931; Edward Van Sloan was the other. Frye later played roles in several of Universal's horror sequels, including The Bride of Frankenstein (1935) and The Ghost of Frankenstein (1942).

George Zucco specialized in playing mad scientists, high priests and other villains in potboilers released by both major studios and Poverty Row companies. Among the nearly 100 titles in Zucco's IMDb filmography are MGM's Marie Antoinette (1938), The Mad Monster (1942), and appearances in several of Universal's 1940s Mummy sequels.
