TRIVIA

Trivia

This film was remade in 2005 as Paheli, starring Shahrukh Khan and Rani Mukherjee in the lead roles.

The stills used in the film by Manui Kaul were Kaul's way to express national theme that drew heavily from the classical styles of the Kangra and Basohli miniature paintings.

Mani Kaul used rich hues of red, yellow, and orange in the film as homage to the financier of the film: Akbar Padamsee, an Indian artist and painter, who's also the father of the Bride played by Raeesa Padamsee.

The soundtrack used in the film is a niche folk Manganiyar music.
