Numerous songs from Essex band "Eddie & the Hot Rods" feature in this film.
The first time actors Ross Boatman and Mark Arden have been reunited on screen together since 1989 (LWT's London's Burning).
Two of the guys in Franks' Gang are named Pat and Tony. This was in reference to Pat Tate and Tony Tucker who died in the Rettendon murders in 1995, although these are completely different characters.
The "Yank" scenes were all filmed on location in the Essex village Bicknacre. Bicknacre is a neighboring village to Rettendon, where the infamous Range Rover murders took place.
The real Carlton Leach introduces this movie. Carlton was a close associate with the Essex Boys and is author of the books "Rise of the Footsoldier" & "Muscle".
"Franks: I fucking hate your kind! Lee: The feeling's mutual Franks: Oh you hate coopers? That's original. Lee: I don't have a problem with coppers, Franks. Coppers are alright, they have a code of ethics, they watch each other's backs. You're not a fucking copper. You're not a criminal. You're... you're nothing."
"DCI Gregg: Do you have a busy household? Detective Allen: What? DCI Gregg: Do YOU have a busy household? Detective Allen: I've got a wife, two kids, dog and a cat... what, what are you saying...? DCI Gregg: Look, what's the first thing you do any major event in the household? You get yourself organised, you get yourself prepared. Listen, something big's coming."
