Bethesda Game Studios director Todd Howard serves as an executive producer on the show.
Filming for the exterior shots of the Super Duper Mart were filmed in Staten Island in the end of July 2022. A closed down Shop Rite was dressed up as the in-game chain, and was highly visibile from the main road. Production added tarps to the fence, but the Super Duper Mart sign painted on the building was still visible. Sneaking on to the set was very simple as the fence was able to be cleared easily thanks to the parking lot design, and a back entrance that was left wide open.
Vault 33, located in Los Angeles, is listed as the location for the show, however this vault does not exist in fallout lore. The events of fallout 1 and 2 take place in Southern California, and take place 84 years and 164 years after the nuclear war of 2077, and introduce major plot lines of the franchise such as the water chip, GECK, the FEV, Brotherhood of Steel, and Enclave. It is not confirmed yet if the show will follow suit with the plots of fallout 1 and 2 video games.
