This TV movie was Irwin Allen's first project with Warner Bros. Studios after having moved over from 20th Century-Fox, where he had mastered both mediums of television and films for sixteen years.
Actors Martin Milner, 'Cameron Mitchell' and 'Eric Olsen' all starred in Irwin Allen's short-lived Swiss Family Robinson (1975) series, which was off-the-air earlier in 1976. This TV-movie also served as the pilot to a series about helicopter pilots. The series was scrapped early in the planning stages.
Barbara Hershey played a nurse in this TV film. She also played a nurse in a feature film she made two years prior, 'The Crazy World of Julius Vrooder' (dir. Arthur Hiller, 1974.)
Carol Lynley and Roddy McDowell also appeared together in Irwin Allen's 'The Poseidon Adventure,' though they share no scenes together in this film.
