TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

First Israeli movie shot in Jordan.

A crowd of ultra-orthodox Jewish worshippers confronted Natalie Portman and her co-star Aki Avni, objecting to the couple kissing during the filming of a scene beside Jerusalem's Western Wall. The crowd charged and shouted "Immoral, immoral!" Police asked the actors to leave and return later, and they agreed.

The film underwent a digital restoration through Cinematek, the royal film archive of Belgium with support from the Baillet Latour Fund.

Popular Dialogues

"Hanna: So why did you want to come to Israel? Rebecca: I didn't feel like I belonged in the U.S. So I came to live here, and... now I'm starting to think I don't belong anywhere."

"Leila: We rear camels, cows, goats and even donkeys. Hanna: I have a donkey too. Moshe, my husband."
