IMDbThis was the second "Amicus" horror film where Peter Cushing played the host in the framework story. The previous film being Dr. Terror's House of Horrors (1965).
The last of the portmanteau horror films from "Amicus Films."
Donald Pleasence and his real-life daughter Angela Pleasence portray father and daughter in the second segment.
In the opening segment, David Warner plays a man who fatally stabs a prostitute a la Jack the Ripper. Five years later, Warner played Jack the Ripper in Time After Time (1979).
Margaret Leighton's character, Madame Orloff, is apparently named after the mad doctor in a series of Spanish horror films that began in the 1960s, while the character herself seems to be a parody of the spiritualist Madame Arcati from Noel Coward's "Blithe Spirit."
"[last lines] The Proprietor: O dear. The love of money is the root of all evil. [bell from shop door] The Proprietor: Ay, customers, come in, come in. I'm sure I have the very thing to tempt you. Lots of bargains. All tastes catered to. Oh... and a big novelty surprise goes with every purchase. Do come in... any time. I'm always open. [closes the "Temptations Limited" shop door, that is etched with the saying, "Offers You Cannot Resist"]"
"Madame Orloff (segment 3 "The Elemental"): There's an Elemental on your shoulder!"
