Casting happened to be held at the Beverly Hills offices of Maverick, the company co-founded by Madonna. As a result, literally hundreds of people showed up for the casting call even though Madonna had nothing whatsoever to do with the film.
Interior scenes and hot tub scene were shot at ValCom Studios in Valencia, CA where the NCIS (2003) TV series is shot.
