TRIVIA

Trivia

The Starlight nightclub is inspired by the The Lime Light, a real 1970s Montreal nightclub. Some scenes were filmed at 1258 Rue Stanley, now home of the dance club "La Boom" and the strip club "Chez Parée". Director Daniel Roby told the Montreal Mirror "We were so lucky because we got to shoot the club scenes in the actual location where the Limelight was and recreate a real disco club on the dance-floor where all that history actually happened."

Bastien Lavallée hosts a TV show called 'Disco Dance Party'. The fictional TV program was inspired by a real life show called 'Et ça tourne' a Télé-Métropole Canal 10 show that the filmmakers found in the network's archives.

Set between 1976 and 1980, during the height of the disco era.

Producer Simon Trottier comprehensively researched Montreal's late 1970s and early 1980s disco scene. In 2009 he approached director Daniel Roby about making a dramatic feature film about it.

The first Québécois feature film with dialogue in both English and French since Bon Cop Bad Cop (2006). Patrick Huard has a leading role in both films.
