TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

The film's title comes from a statement made by an U.S. Army officer during the Vietnam War, who defended the complete and utter destruction of a Vietnamese town at the hands of Army soldiers by saying that they had to "destroy the town to save it."

When the two young leads escape from Dallas at the beginning of the film, they drive the Edsel through Dealey Plaza past the Texas School Book Depository, the site of President John F. Kennedy's assassination only seven years earlier.

The Warriors football team in the film is the actual name of the Socorro High School football team in Socorro, New Mexico, where part of this film was shot, and the actual Warriors' team colors really are blue and white.

This was the last film that Roger Corman directed for American International Pictures.

The film debut of Janice Maureen Odell.
