TRIVIA

Trivia

Harrison's widow, Olivia, who collaborated on the film, has said: "I almost don't want people to see it. It's like showing everybody into your most private place."

For decades, with his legacy in mind, Harrison had been saving photographs, letters and memorabilia as well as his film footage of interviews he had recorded.

Olivia Harrison chose Martin Scorsese to direct this documentary about George after she had seen his 2005 Bob Dylan documentary, American Masters: No Direction Home: Bob Dylan (2005).

Martin Scorsese met George Harrison first when Scorsese, Jack Nicholson and Robbie Robertson knocked on Harrison's door in a frantic moment during the filming of "The Last Waltz (1978)" in the late '70s, and then again in the early '90s.

The film contains previously unseen private letters, home movie footage and intimate personal recollections of George Harrison.
