TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

Based on the song of the same name written by Tom T. Hall and recorded by Jeannie C. Riley.

All but the last two weeks of filming were directed by Ralph Senensky. He left after expressing concern that the elephants would be spooked on Halloween night, when a scene was scheduled to be shot. He turned out to be correct, a spooked elephant injured Nanette Fabray severely.

Woody Harrelson's uncredited film debut.

Photograph number six was on the cover of Jeannie C. Riley's 1969 single that Plantation Record company re-mastered and made a new copy of the comical song (eight or nine years later) for the sake of the movie. The 45 r.p.m. record was a weak light green color that could be seen through, almost clear.

Ninety percent of Ron Masak's (Herbie Maddox's) dialogue was ad-libbed, as directed.

Popular Dialogues

"Police Officer: [just catching Bobby Taylor outside a motel, wearing nothing but a firehouse hose wrapped around him] Hey, buddy... where's the fire?"

"Myrna Wong: [exits Kirby's office after tossing him about his office and deliberately tearing her own dress] Excuse me, would someone call the police? I've been assaulted!"
