TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

Tuesday Weld, who plays the mom who's a big fan of Elvis Presley in the movie, was in Wild in the Country (1961) which starred Elvis Presley.

The name of the hotel is "Flaming Star," which is also the name of Elvis Presley's 6th movie.

The scene in the movie where Elvis'character is called out to sing a song from the jukebox, is actually a re-creation of the scene from the 1957 Presley movie, "Loving You". The scene is eerily remiscent, right down to how the guy Elvis belts, falls down, slowly across the jukebox, as another Presley song starts to blare out across the diner.

Jason Priestley auditioned for the role of Johnny Wolfe.

Popular Dialogues

"Johnny Wolfe: You're kissing the same ass you used to kick."

"Elvis Presley: When I first met you, I didn't like you at all. I thought you were the most arrogant, selfish, ungrateful little bastard I'd ever met. [pauses] Elvis Presley: Then I started to remember how much I was like that at your age. Johnny Wolfe: Elvis, man. What happened at the talent show - thanks. I know you did that for me. Elvis Presley: [Frowns] Hell no, kid. I didn't do that for you. I did that for rock and roll."
