TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

Chris Columbus, director of Home Alone (1990) and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992), had the following to say when the topic of this reboot came up during an interview while promoting The Christmas Chronicles: Part Two (2020): "Nobody got in touch with me about it, and it's a waste of time as far as I'm concerned. What's the point? I'm a firm believer that you don't remake films that have had the longevity of Home Alone. You're not going to create lightning in a bottle again. It's just not going to happen. So why do it? It's like doing a paint-by-numbers version of a Disney animated film - a live-action version of that. What's the point? It's been done. Do your own thing. Even if you fail miserably, at least you have come up with something original."

The movie Hunter is watching is a modernized version of the fictional movie "Angels with Filthy Souls", which Kevin watched in the original movie Home Alone (1990). In the original it was styled after 1930s mafia movies, like Angels with Dirty Faces (1938).

When Max is trying to call the police via the voice assistant, the voice assistant is actually reading the weather report in German. It mentions that it will be snowing the next day and a warning from the police ("Polizei") is announced.

Like Home Alone 3 (1997) and Home Alone: The Holiday Heist (2012), this film does not revolve around the McCallister family.

At one point, Max says to Jeff and Pam, "Have you given up, or are you thirsty for more?" This is similar to a line Kevin says to the burglars in the original Home Alone movie ("do you guys give up or you thirsty for more?").

Popular Dialogues

"Hunter: Uh, this is garbage. I don't know why they are always trying to remake the classics. Never as good as the originals."

"Max Mercer: Homebot, search good booby traps. Homebot: I'm sorry, the parental controls of this system restrict the term "booby". Max Mercer: Never mind."
