After a long time Dharmendra got a hit, with his comback film, he returned to his top position and got many films after this. After making socials like Shradhanjali. & Bandhan Kuchey Dhagon Ka, director Anil Sharma first time made this action film, this film was delayed, started in 1984 and was released in 1987 by that time Rati Aghnihotri had already retaired and veteren actor K.N.Singh appeared in a scene. Also Uttam Singh-Jagdish Khanna were the origional music composers for this film but then were replaced by Laxmikant-Pyarelal.
The censor board was not passing the film for 6 months .
Anil Sharma stated he was in such awe of Dharmendra that in any fight scene, no villain or henchman laid a single finger on Dharmendra. Dharmendra bashed all villains one sided in all fight scenes.
Sudheer's corrupt cop character in the film is named ' Javed Miandad ' . It was deliberately named so as the former Pakistani Cricketer Javed Miandad hit the very famous last ball six in final of Austral Asia Cup Sharjah in 1986 and Every time Dharmendra bellowed his name on screen , the audience broke into thundering applause .....
In this film Sadashiv Amrapurkar got a big scope, he had a major role. He was a newcomer when he had signed this film, after Ardh Satya. Hukumat is one of his important film.
