This film got delayed about 4 years, Deepak Bahry also took Raam- Laxman as music composer of his films and signed Raam-Laxman for this film, but Deepak Bahry replaced Raam-Laxman with Laxmikant-Pyarelal as they were at top. In 1989 Raam-Laxman became top and successful with Maine Pyar Kiya and LP were not at top when Hum Se Na Takrana was relesed.
The film was a follow up from Humse hai zamaana by the same director deepak bahry. Due to budget issues the film was almost shelved in 1988. The producer was a good friend of Mithun who helped see the film get completed and released. When reeased it was a decent hit at the box office.
Kim was signed for the film. After her break up with Danny, she got replaced by Kimi Katkar.
Rati Agnihotri was signed for the film but later dropped out due to getting married. Kim was later signed then Kimi Katkar.
