The voices of Sam and Gustav's agents heard over the phone throughout the film are that of Lake Bell.
Although uncredited in the actual film credits, Cameron Diaz is listed in the credits for the movie-within-the-movie "The Amazon Games", which can be seen during the final voice class at the end of the film.
Much like his character in the film, Fred Melamed is an accomplished voice actor in real life. According to Melamed himself, Lake Bell was unaware of this when she first offered him the role of Sam.
The title is a reference to the frequent phrase uttered by the late Don LaFontaine in many film trailers.
The film was shot in 20 days.
"Carol: I just want to give you my card. I'm not a vocal coach anymore, but I would make an exception for you because you sound like a squeaky toy. And I don't mean that in a bad way."
"Carol: This Wednesday, one woman will teach another woman to sound a little less retarded."
