The hurricane footage that plays during the opening credits was shot on the Gulf of Mexico.

Christopher Lawrence Chapman got the idea for the premise after he was sent to a hospital in Florida to be treated for food poisoning that was beset by a tropical storm.

The car Danielle Harris drives in this film belonged to director Christopher Lawrence Chapman.
