TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

First role in a theatrical feature film of actor Harold Russell since his dual Oscar (Academy Award) winning performance in The Best Years of Our Lives (1946). The interval between the two pictures was about thirty-four years.

Debut theatrical feature film of actor David Morse who portrayed Jerry Maxwell.

The film in 1981 was Oscar nominated for one Academy Award which was in the category of Best Actress in a Supporting Role for Diana Scarwid but she lost out to Mary Steenburgen for Melvin and Howard (1980). In the same year, Scarwid was nominated by The Stinkers Bad Movie Awards for Worst Supporting Actress for Mommie Dearest (1981), the latter feat was repeated the following 1982 year with a Razzie nomination in the same category at the Golden Raspberry Awards.

Richard Donner's biographer James Christie relates how the director confused cinematographer László Kovács with his fellow Hungarian Vilmos Zsigmond, referring to him as "Vilmos" repeatedly. When Zsigmond dropped by the set to visit, Donner had T-shirts made up that read "MY NAME IS NOT LÁSZLÓ" and "MY NAME IS NOT VILMOS" for each of them. Later they switched shirts and confused everyone.

In the film, Max's Bar features a "Superman" pinball machine depicting Christopher Reeve as Superman. The film's director Richard Donner had previously directed Superman (1978) and also did uncredited directorial work on the Superman II (1980) which debuted the same 1980 year as Inside Moves (1980).

Blue Lewis: As her breasts moved towards him bubbling in the night air, he couldn't help but notice how she had grown from that small child from whom he had once babysat. [shakes his head] Blue Lewis: He reached out... Stinky: Go ahead! Go ahead! Blue Lewis: [swallowing] ... and gently touched her large brown, ore... OH!... A-U-R-E-O-L-E-S. Stinky: Aureoles? Oh, you're killin' the story! Her large brown aureoles? Blue Lewis: Uh what? He touched her cookies?"
