In one of the karaoke bar scenes, when Garrett Morris' character is bargaining with the guy to trade songs, he suggests that the guy sing "Baby Don't Get Hooked On Me" by Mac Davis. The man he is speaking to is, you guessed it, Mac Davis.
The first movie shot in 24p HD to be released in theaters on 35mm film. (The next, Session 9 (2001), was released two weeks later.)
Early in the film, one of the characters references the town of Twin Falls. Twin Falls Idaho (1999) was the Polish brothers' first movie.
Both Jon Gries and Garrett Morris were co-stars on the TV show Martin (1992) starring Martin Lawrence that ran for 5 seasons. On the show Garrett Morris ran a radio station and Jon Gries worked for him.
"Lester: Hey, Sunny, until you pay me more than 15% of your earnings, I'm only going to take 15% of your shit."
"Lester: The Olympics, the NBA, the NFL - all filled up with children who didn't have fathers. You may be a flawed character, but you're building hers. You're the asshole who will put your daughter on the moon."
