After businessman Ram Pratap Singh (Raj Babbar) gives police information pertaining to a journalist's murder, gangster Jagmohan (Danny Denzongpa) goes to prison for the crime. Soon, Singh's life turns upside down when Jagmohan's cohorts begin peppering him with threats. Helped by Inspector Sharma (Suresh Oberoi), he goes into the witness protection program with his wife and child, but the cover may not be enough to keep them safe.

Pankaj Udhas was the playback singer of this film. This film started in 1981 at that time this was one of the first film of Raj Babbar and Smita Patil. This is the second film ravi tandon directed for producer Premji, the first was the Amitabh Bachchan starrer Majboor, it came in 1974.
Madan Puri's voice was dubbed by dubbing artiste due to his death.
Master Bittu's final film as child artist. Though Aakhri Sanghursh released in 1997. It was started in late 70s and delayed for long time.
