One of the first series to premiere on Disney XD in the United States.
According to co-creator Sean Scott, the basic idea for the show came about as basically asking "What would happen if a character with a personality like that of Pee-wee Herman ended up in Hell?"
The episode "The Big Drip," season one episode five, never aired in the United States. Disney XD found the content (which centered around Jimmy having a potty emergency) to be "inappropriate." Sister episode "The Masked Jackhammer" did air, but very rarely.
Creators Brian Froud and Sean Scott had expressed displeasure with the show at some points. Froud expressed dislike for Beezy's breakup with Saffi in "She Loves Me", saying that it was a step too far in the wrong direction. Scott also voiced dissatisfaction with the infamous pilot, saying he believed its writing and animation were vastly inferior to that of the final product, and stating that it would probably be better for the original animation test to remain lost.
The original pilot, which was more of a 6-minute test animation, hadn't resurfaced. The creators and various crew members even admitted to not have a copy, and that they don't remember which executives it was sold to.
