TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

Angela Bassett and Loretta Devine previously starred together in Waiting to Exhale (1995).

Jumping the broom is an African American tradition

Directorial debut of Salim Akil.

This movie has a subtle nod to another one of Angela Bassett's movies, How Stella Got Her Groove Back (1998); Shonda was an older women with braids who fell for the advances of a 20-year-old, just like in How Stella Got Her Groove Back (1998).

The song "Magic," by Paula Patton's (at the time) real-life husband Robin Thicke, can be heard playing.

Popular Dialogues

"Mrs. Watson: Life is like a disco: no matter how the music changes, you just keep on dancing."

"Mrs. Watson: Well, if the sofa hasn't been repossessed, please find yourself on it, tonight."
