The scene in Linda's apartment when Gary (Andy Garcia) fakes a pain in his side was improvised and fooled even Andie MacDowell. Her laugh at the end of the scene is authentic.

The end credits includes a song about Gary's Plaque-O-Rama which was based off of the jingle that Andie MacDowell improvised during the shooting of a scene.
The pope visit at Yankee stadium was filmed during an actual Yankee game in 1997 this is clearly noticed due to all the spectators wearing Yankee apparel outside the stadium.
