The film is loosely based on the "New Teen Titans: Terror of Trigon."
It is said that the success of the film could increase the chances of the Teen Titans appearing in more DC animated universe films or even in live-action form.
This is the first Justice League film in the DC Animated New 52 Universe where Green Lantern is absent.
As opposed to most iterations of the team, Starfire is the leader of the Titans.
