TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

David R. Ellis was initially the film's director, however, part way through filming, Ellis was found dead in the bathroom of his Johannesburg, South Africa hotel room. As a result, Ralph Ziman took over as director.

The live-action version of Kite is significantly toned-down, and is based on the 45 minute censored animé version (Rated 16+ by Animé Works), and not the uncut 18+ Kitty Media version.

Most of the characters are original to the live-action version, and don't appear in the animé.

While Oburi has blue hair in the animé, he has brown hair in the live-action version.

The character Karl Aker is based on Akai from the animé version of Kite (1998).

Popular Dialogues

"Detective Prinsloo: You make friends fast, Aker. Karl Aker: They're easier to make than get rid of."

"Karl Aker: Looks like somebody used a landmine to clear the sinuses."
