This is the story of a typical, non-alcoholic middle-class man whose life takes an unexpected turn when he finds himself dealing with problems related to alcohol. The roller coaster ride that comes next is filled with humorous elements and delight as his close companions come to his help, assisting him in overcoming these challenges until he returns to his comfortable middle-class existence. The three actors that follow Mathi throughout the course of the movie, Namo Narayanan, Honest Raj, and Kathiravan, give outstanding performances that make for some of the most enjoyable moments. "Kudimahaan" has a pleasant sense of humor, with sequences that aren't frequently seen in Tamil cinema. Fans were impressed with the quality of humor that the makers have incorporated into the theme which adds up to the overall quality of the film. Thus, making it a great comedy-drama that happens to be a must watch for all the comedy lovers out there.
