It is one of the classic Tamil films that has a great plot. Fans were impressed with the quality of work depicted in the film, the writers have done an incredible job with the movie's plot and how amazingly they have interwoven the different sequences of the film in one big plot that seems to be quite impressive to the audiences. The plot centers on a monarch (played by Radha) and a gifted sculptor (played by Sivaji Ganesan). The sculptor Chitrashilpi could make stones sing and dance with his artistic touch. He meets the princess (played by Savithri) in a jungle and falls in love with her, despite being the son of the king's bodyguard (played by Nagaiah), whose kind-hearted wife is represented by Kannamba. However, none is aware of the identity of the other. It is considered a timeless piece of Indian cinema that could be watched at least once.
