As Sandberg could only afford one police uniform, he filmed the police precinct scene by shooting each extra separately and compositing them in the scene.
Most of the characters' voices were intentionally dubbed over. Some of the actors were non-English speakers reciting the lines phonetically.
Sandberg initially spent US$5,000 to produce the trailer.
The original goal of the film's Kickstarter campaign in December 2013 was US$200,000 to produce a 30-minute short film and release it online for free. Sandberg set an additional goal of US$1 million to create a full-length feature film and secure international distribution rights. The campaign ended on January 25, 2014 with US$630,019 pledged by 17,713 backers.
The names on the papers on the wall of the police station at the 8:04 mark, are kickstarter backers.
