TRIVIA

Trivia

The film released as part of a new parenting initiative from FamilyLife called "The Art of Parenting," which will also include a free online video series and small group resources to help further equip parents on their journey of raising children.

Each character in the Morris family wears a particular color so the audience can remember the character better as they age and are replaced by different actors throughout the 50 years of the story.

The director's daughter plays 3 year old Alice in the opening scene.

Aowyn Peeples, who played 3 year old Alice in the opening flashback scene, was asked by the director, her father, how best to produce her sad face reaction on camera. She suggested he could say "I'll throw your dolly in the trash." She produced her reaction, on cue, for the first few takes with this direction. After a few takes she said "just tell me to make a sad face." So the final take used in the film was her reacting to the director saying "sad face" just off camera.

The film was shot in only 21 days, not including a day and a half of pick ups.
