In interviews for Femme Fatale magazine in 1997, director Jane Simpson and actress Sheri Rappaport said how prior to its release, the movie was altered by the studio. After seeing Simpson's rough cut, they had the producers re-cut the film the way they wanted. Simpson already had to deal with some interference by them and the studio during filming, one of the biggest demands they kept asking for is for the film to have more nudity, but Simpson refused because Rappaport and other actresses were already uncomfortable with nude scenes they had. There were discussions about having somebody else filming pick-ups and re-shoots to add more nudity and other sexual scenes after Simpson was done with the film, but that didn't happened. At one point some of them even suggested to change the climax of the film and make it darker by having the demon who shows up in the last scene raping all the girls, just to have more sex and nude scenes.
During the final day of filming, Jack Nance was involved in a six-car accident on an L.A. freeway while on his way to the set and injured his right knee. He then walked with a cane for the remainder of his life.
Except for Clea DuVall and Sheeri Rappaport, most of the teen actresses quit acting soon after making this.
