TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

Due to scheduling conflicts, Morgan Freeman and Gerard Butler don't appear in the same scene together in person. The scene in the hallway at the White House uses body doubles, and doesn't show faces.

Olympus Has Fallen (2013) director Antoine Fuqua refused to direct this sequel because he didn't like the script.

The jogging sequence at the start of the film, was filmed in Kensington Gardens in central London.

Morgan Freeman added his voice to the directions mobile app 'Waze' to support the release of this movie.

It's unclear how many years the film is set after the events of its precursor film, Olympus Has Fallen (2013). However, in that film Asher would be at least 2.5 years into his Presidency (it's shown he's the President at Christmas time, then flash-forwards 18 months). In this film, it's mentioned he's over six years into his Presidency. Which would make the events of the film at most 3.5 or 4 years after the first one.

Popular Dialogues

"Benjamin Asher: [after Banning kills a terrorist as his brother listens via radio] Was that necessary? Mike Banning: No."

"Mike Banning: [hands Ben a pistol] Point this end towards the bad guy. Benjamin Asher: This is not good, Mike. Mike Banning: Stay in here, stay down, and if anybody but me opens that door, you empty that into him. Benjamin Asher: What if you don't come back? Mike Banning: You're fucked. Benjamin Asher: Mike... Mike Banning: Don't jinx me. [closes the doors] Benjamin Asher: That was inspiring..."
