TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

The executive producer of this film was Joanne Woodward. There is a dedication at the end of the film that reads: "This film is dedicated to Paul Newman; an inspiration, mentor, cheering squad, and darn good reason a gal could still have trouble finding a gent to fill his boots."

During dinner, Charlie's fiancé makes some disparaging remarks about documentaries. Ellie mentions a documentary about monkeys that is filmed by monkeys. It ends after ten seconds, when the camera is broken. At the end of the film credits for "Lucky Them", the monkey documentary is shown in full.

In a nod to Seattle's music scene, Ellie's sea horses are named Kurt and Courtney.

When Charlie is talking about liking Bryan Adams, because of an album cover where it looked like he was running somewhere, Charlie is describing Adams' 1983 album "Cuts Like a Knife".

One scene was shot at the same spot as David Lynch's Twin Peaks (waterfalls)

Popular Dialogues

"Charlie: It's not that I don't like music, it's that I have a hard time finding a style that doesn't annoy me."

"Charlie: It's much better to confront the demons of your past in the harsh, unforgiving light of early dawn."
