[angry] Leland Winters: He shot Bob Cheshire point blank. He executed him. Mayberly: You're sure it was Kahl? Leland Winters: Hell, yeah. I talked to him at the clinic after. Mayberly: [surprised] What? Leland Winters: The ambulance took us all to Doc Earns' clinic in Medina and there he was. Mayberly: All of you were there? Leland Winters: It's the closest doctor. Yorie was there and I guess Kahl came to see how he was. Mayberly: [disbelieving] What is it with this place? You guys shoot the hell out of each other and get together later for a beer? Why didn't you take him right there? Leland Winters: [angry] He was armed! Mister, he killed Bob Cheshire! Don't you think I would have gone for him if I could've? Mayberly: Where'd he go? Leland Winters: [angry] Out the door!"
"Scott Faul: [to Cheshire] What do you want? Bob Cheshire: I want him. Gordon Kahl. Gordon Kahl: [leveling rifle at Cheshire] I thought I told you... you better back off."
