TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

Written for Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen. Anne Hathaway and Lindsay Lohan both auditioned for the roles that eventually went to the Duff sisters.

This is the first film that both Hilary Duff and Haylie Duff are in together.

When the girls and Tommy walk in to Fabiellas building, Tommy says "beam me up huh". An obvious Star Trek original series reference. Tommy is played by Brent Spiner who played Mr Data in Star Trek the next generation

The film began production on April 18, 2005. On March 31, 2006, Lukas Haas (Henry), told an entertainment website that the movie might not find a distributor. On April 6, Box Office Mojo reported that the movie had been bought by MGM, and would be released in August. It was released in 1,500 theaters, and flopped.

Hilary improvised many lines and moments in the film, Coolidge noted on the DVD commentary. Among others, Hilary came up with the Lucy walk when the girls are dressed up as Sassy maids and added the reference to women having their own buses in Japan when the sisters are riding the public transit on the spot.
