Monica, O My Darling is a neo noir comedy thriller with Rajkummar Rao and Huma Qureshi in lead roles. As underrated as the film is, Vasan Bala has ensured that it is extremely entertaining. Telling the story of a young, naive man who wants to make it big in the criminal world by plotting the perfect murder with allies never paired before. The jury is out - the thriller plot makes for a superbly fun film filled with comedy and intelligent plot twists. This is a rare delight on screen, which follows plot elements similar to smart movies like Ek Hasina Thi and Johnny Gaddar. The movie has a surprisingly sci-fi plot with things like robots and reptiles, which makes the film even more modern-looking. The surprise elements in the movie are also pretty solid, as the script keeps you guessing every few minutes.
