Rajkummar Rao was the one who suggested the title 'Stree'. When the story was being narrated to him by Raj & DK the title was 'O Stree Kal Aana.' Rajkummar came up with the title as it was the first word that came to his mind.
Film was made on budget of 20 Crore but went on to do business of more then 100 Crore.
Rajkumar Rao learned tailoring for his role. A tailor would come regularly for 20 days to train him.
Sharddha Kapoor's character has no name in the film.
It is based on the Indian urban legend, Nale Ba, about a witch who knocks on people's doors at night.
