The movie is based on the popular song, "Mr. Suave", by Parokya ni Edgar.

'Julius Empoy Marquez' was cast in this movie, being the winner in the "Mr. Suave Contest" of Masayang tanghali bayan! (2003).
Actor-singer Rico J. Puno, not Vhong Navarro, was the inspiration of Parokya ni Edgar when they wrote Mr. Suave.
The production wanted Parokya ni Edgar, the band which popularized the hit song which this song was based, to appear in the movie. The group, however, declined saying they don't want to appear in any movie yet.
