In those days it was a big thing that a big and major filmaker who works in outside productions like Prakash Mehra imaking film for Yash Johar and it was a sensation that Raaj Kumar and Prakash Mehra are coming toghether.
Raaj Kumar had once rejected Prakash Mehra's Zanjeer because he did not like his face. They finally put away their differences and did Muqaddar Ka Faisla.
The film opened along side Mr.India and proved to be a disaster. Yash Johar had to sell his mothers apartment to pay off several debts.
When Akbar Khan heard that Prakash Mehra was looking for a third lead in the film, he approached him and requested the role. Mehra had old relations with the Khan family and decided to sign Akbar for the film.
