TRIVIA

Trivia

Negotiations broke down with regard to the use of INXS' music. After viewing the film without any music, Richard Lowenstein realized that the film would be completely ineffective without any music so he contacted Tiger Lily Hutchence Geldof (the singer's daughter with Paula Yates) who agreed with his conclusion. She reached out privately to INXS and was able to persuade them to relinquish the rights to nine of the band's songs.

Helena Christensen was with Michael Hutchence when he was attacked in Copenhagen by a taxi driver. The incident scarred him permanently (the autopsy report reveals that he was in fact seriously brain damaged following the attack, losing his sense of smell and taste) and many feel that this was a key factor in his mental spiral downward. Hutchence swore Christiensen to secrecy about the incident. This film marks the first time that she has ever spoken about it.

Richard Lowenstein hadn't seen Kylie Minogue in 20 years when he approached her management about being involved in the film. Minogue sidestepped the usual routes and reached out to him personally, eagerly agreeing to help him. Lowenstein credits her for being instrumental in opening all the remaining doors to get the film completed.

Director Richard Lowenstein has past history with Michael Hutchence and his band, INXS, as he directed around 20 of their music videos.
