IMDbAfter filming wrapped, Paul Mescal gave his character's signature chain necklace as a gift to Daisy Edgar-Jones.
The show features several scenes of full frontal nudity from Paul Mescal and he said that he wouldn't have done the show without it because it was essential to the role. He told The Sun, "I wouldn't like to have done the show without nudity in it because the book is so visceral and raw, and when I read the book the characters are clearly naked in my head."
Although she plays Paul Mescal's mother, Sarah Greene is less than twelve years older than him.
When the list of students receiving scholarships is read out, one of the names is David Sexton, likely a nod to the book reviewer by the same name who wrote a piece about the novel entitled, "Why Sally Rooney's love story deserves to win the Man Booker Prize".
The scenes in Marianne and Connell's fictional home town of Carricklea were mostly shot in Tubbercurry, with Streedagh Point used for the beach scenes. Knockmore House in Enniskerry was Marianne's house, and a home in Shankill, Dublin was Connell's.
